Our story
Our story
Resilia, a name that represents a commitment to positive impact, helps nonprofits build capacity and helps funders go beyond the grant with coaching, technical assistance and capacity-building support. We meet changemakers where they are.
Resilia began as a platform that helped nonprofits incorporate. It has grown to serve nonprofits, foundations, corporations, governments and other grantmakers with support designed to strengthen nonprofit capacity and amplify philanthropic impact. Our methodology is centered on trust-based philanthropy principles.
Our mission has always been to strengthen and lift up nonprofit organizations by elevating their stories, driving advocacy efforts and prioritizing those that are underserved, through long-term capacity building. From our team to the organizations we serve, diversity, equity and inclusion are in everything we do.
In March 2026 Resilia acquired Lightful’s BRIDGE program (Building Resilience in Digital Growth and Engagement). BRIDGE is now the cohort method behind every Resilia program. Read the announcement.
Words to act by
Our operating principles
We bring our values to life through operating principles that guide how we work.
Be lionhearted
Transforming philanthropy requires boldness. We help funders make the case for trust-based approaches, advocate for their grantees’ real needs, and stand with them when they push for systemic change. When you’re ready to challenge the status quo, we’re right there with you.
Put nonprofits first
The best outcomes happen when nonprofits lead their own capacity building. Every feature, coaching session and resource starts with a simple question: how does this help organizations achieve their missions? We celebrate when they outgrow our services — that’s success.
Move the needle
Across thousands of organizations, we’ve seen which approaches create lasting change. We share those insights, help you track meaningful progress, and adjust strategies based on real results — not vanity metrics.
Elevate equity
The most innovative grantees are often those closest to the communities they serve. We help funders identify, support and amplify these organizations, and we provide the same high-quality capacity building to a grassroots startup as to an established nonprofit.
Create gathering places
No one should navigate these challenges alone. We connect nonprofit leaders and funders with peers facing similar questions, share what’s working across portfolios, and create spaces where people learn from each other’s experience.
Partners
Funders and partners
We work with The Boston Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, The Miami Foundation, United Way, Community Foundation of Broward, Oxfam America and the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, among more than 200 grantmakers.
What we stand for
Our commitments
Equity in who gets support
Small, Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC)-led and culturally specific organizations — often the least likely to get a consultant — get the same coaching, peers and tools.
Nonprofit-owned data
The nonprofit owns its data and controls who accesses it. Read the commitments.
Mission lock
Our data commitments can’t be weakened without our customers’ affirmative consent, and they carry over to any acquirer.
